What We Do
OUR MISSION WORK
Risen Savior Missions strives to feed Jesus in the distressing disguise of the poor. We begin by partnering with local churches, service organizations, and government agencies to bring nutritious MannaPack Rice from Feed My Starving Children into poor neighborhoods. Volunteers from these organizations seek families with children who are severely malnourished and invite them to a feeding site for a healthy meal. As these children come more frequently to the feeding site, malnutrition begins to reverse, and families get more involved with the site. Families start attending classes focusing on proper nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation. They gain knowledge and practical skills in farming and manufacturing. Most importantly, they learn about the love that God has for them.
This holistic program enables families to become sustainably self-sufficient. Instead of focusing on obtaining food for daily survival, families begin to think about and plan for the future. Children can return to school instead of spending the day begging for food. Families start to help other families. Co-ops and small businesses form. Desperation is replaced with hope.

What We Believe
Risen Savior Missions (RSM) believes that all children have dignity and value. Each child deserves a chance to know God and live a healthy, productive life. This begins with wholesome food, because nutritious food is the platform upon which healthy lives are established.
No child is turned away. RSM serves all children that come to our feeding sites. By reversing malnutrition, the door is open to attending school and learning the skills and knowledge necessary to break the cycle of poverty. You cannot just teach someone to fish. You must help that person become healthy first so that they will be able to learn how to be self-sufficient and have the strength to do so. RSM’s holistic approach addresses the needs of the whole person, so that our ultimate goal becomes a reality: the ones we serve no longer need us. They help themselves and pay it forward by helping others.
Who Do We Serve?
Risen Savior Missions helps families by building a stable nutritional platform. The first 2,000 days of a child’s life are the most critical. This countdown begins at conception. It is paramount for good nutrition to start with the pregnant mother and continue until the child is 4.5 or 5 years old. More than 80 percent of a child’s brain is developed by the time they reach 2,000 days of life. Proper brain development is crucial for a child’s learning and ultimate success in life, so we make every effort to feed them good, nutritious food.
What about older children? RSM also seeks to serve older starving children, because approximately 20 percent of the brain develops through the middle school years. Good nourishment gives these children a chance to stay in school and have a brighter future.
Our work doesn’t stop there. Widows, widowers, senior adults, and persons with disabilities also enjoy good nutrition through RSM’s outreach programs. No starving person is ever turned away.
